2012-present

I continue to play many roles for the Indianapolis Public Library. I started out with the eBook Tinker Station-- a mobile program that brought hands-on demonstrations of new technology to patrons and encouraged digital borrowing. My current role focuses primarily on digital inclusion curriculum development and presentation, public technology training, and creating in-house exhibits highlighting local history.

I was an Audience Research Associate for Newfields. In this role, I helped collect visitor data and feedback through surveys, interviews, and observations. Throughout the years, it has been an indoor/outdoor position that allowed me to work all over the 152 acre campus.

2012-2014

I worked in the Education Department of the Indianapolis Zoo in 3 distinct roles. I started as a Clowes Fellow, working on formative evaluation for exhibit panels and interactives for the International Orangutan Center. I spent the following summer as a counselor for their day camp program and continued beyond that in a position where I assisted with overnight programs, animal experiences, and research tasks.

I spent 3 consecutive summers working in the Education Department of the Louisville Zoo. As a day camp counselor, I was part teacher and part tour guide for groups of children ages 2-17. I worked cooperatively with other staff and volunteers to present weeklong themed programs that focused on conservation and the natural world, incorporating activities, games, guest speakers, and up-close experiences with animals.
